In 1978 Cellburst patents are registered worldwide and the Kelpak story begins, with an initial focus into the South African agricultural and home garden markets

In 1983 the first doctoral thesis on Kelpak is published by the University of KwaZulu-Natal confirming the beneficial properties of Kelpak on crops

In 1985 Kelpak establishes market dominance in the South African agricultural sector. The first export markets are established in Australia and the Far East

In 2002 Kelp Product's export achievements are further acknowledged by the Department of Trade and Industry in receiving the State President's Award for export achievement

In 2003, amongst its other organic accreditations, Kelpak's status as an organic agricultural input is further enhanced through its accreditation by the Institute of Marketecology in Switzerland (IMO)

In 2005 Kelpak's international presence grows and now extends to over 50 countries around the world. The achievement is once more recognised by winning the Western Cape Exporter of the Year Award
